HAPPY THANKSGIVING

May this be a time to slow down,

to laugh harder,

to love more intently,

to notice the little things,

to appreciate one another,

to savor the food,

to relive old memories &

make lasting new ones.

In the Studio

There’s something about Thanksgiving that always resonates deeply for me — the colors, the textures, and the warmth of gathering together. Fall is such a beautiful season to bring the outdoors in, especially when setting your holiday table.

Mini pumpkins, squashes, and low floral arrangements in shades of yellow, gold, persimmon, burgundy, and green create a rich, natural palette. Using fall foliage adds movement and color. Keeping floral arrangements low and pairing them with taller candles allows everyone at the table to see one another and enjoy the conversation.

Thanksgiving has always felt like the most reflective holiday to me — a time to pause and truly appreciate what we’re grateful for and how we are blessed.

What I’m Loving Right Now

  • Woven natural-grass chargers paired with more formal china — the balance between polished and relaxed feels especially right this time of year.

  • Crisp white tablecloths and napkins — always the ideal foundation for a colorful, seasonal tablescape.

  • A seasonal color palette of yellow, gold, persimmon, burgundy, and green — rich tones that echo the beauty of fall.

  • Low floral arrangements with taller candles — simple, thoughtful styling that supports connection at the table.

I love the juxtaposition of woven natural-grass chargers with formal china. It strikes the perfect balance between polished and relaxed — a detail that always brings warmth and approachability to the table.

And as simple as it is, keeping the arrangement low so everyone can see across the table remains one of the most important hosting details to me. Beautiful design should support conversation, not compete with it.

If you’re looking for fresh table inspiration, here are two beautiful examples I’ve been drawn to this week:

Inspired By

This month, my inspiration has come straight from the season itself. While I originally thought I’d share a fabric or wallpaper board, I ended up stumbling on something even better: the most beautiful groupings of fall flowers and foliage while out and about.

The colors stopped me in my tracks — saffron yellows, deep persimmons, berry reds, russet oranges, and those rich burgundy tones that feel unmistakably like November. They’re the warm, saturated hues that make fall such a comforting time to design and to gather.

A few of the blooms and branches that inspired this month’s palette:

  • Golden spider mums

  • Warm cinnamon-toned ferns

  • Burnt-orange seed pods and foliage

  • Deep berry-red lilies and amaranthus

  • Dark plum calla lilies

  • Vibrant red twig branches

Together, they create a color story that pairs beautifully with the Thanksgiving table — layered, warm, and full of movement.

From the Studio to Real Life

Whether your holiday is full of family, friends, or a mix of both, there’s something special about having multiple generations together — kids playing with grandparents, board games coming out after dinner, and simply gathering in one place.

One of my longstanding traditions — going on ten years now — is to write down the menu and make notes on the hits, misses, tweaks, and whether a recipe is a keeper. While I tend to stay fairly traditional with the main dishes, I do like to change up a veggie side now and then.

This year, I’m inspired by something new in place of the typical green bean casserole: a creamy green bean salad from Katie Lee Biegel on Food Network’s The Kitchen. It looks fresh, bright, and perfect for a little holiday update.
